Work and money questions within your reach
Turn the work and money questions that keep you up into questions within your reach: your preparation, your effort and your next step, with the facts left to experts.
In this lesson you will
- Sort a work or money question into what is within your reach and what is not.
- Rewrite job, workplace and money questions so that you are their subject.
- Recognize a money or contract question that needs an expert, and ask what a reading can still help with.
It is Sunday evening, the job posting closes on Friday, and the question that rises is Will they hire me? Work and money questions feel practical, so they seem easy to ask. Yet they hide the same trap as a love question: the answer you want sits in someone else's hands.
Your reach and theirs
Every work question touches people and forces you cannot steer: an employer, a manager, a market. A reading can only work with one part of it, and that part is you. On your side lie your skills, your effort, how you prepare, how you speak up and how you spend.
- Within your reach: your preparation, your effort, how you ask for things, how you spend and save, and what you want from your work.
- Outside your reach: who gets hired or promoted, what your manager thinks, what the market does, and exact amounts or dates.
A good work question stays on your side of the line. Will they hire me? becomes How can I show what I bring in this application? The hope stays the same, and the reading now has something it can answer.
Warm up
A quick look back before the new material. Recalling helps you remember.
Warm-up
Before drawing for Friday's interview, you rewrite “Will I get the job?”. Which version gives the reading the most to work with?
Warm-up
You are worried about money and want to draw one card, perhaps landing on the Four of Pentacles. Which question is best for the reading?
Look first

Look at these two cards before reading on. What is the young man holding, and how closely is he looking at it? Where does the second pentacle come from?
Remember
- A work or money question touches other people and forces, but a reading can only work with your side: your preparation, your effort and your next step.
- Check every question for subject, action, picture and expert before you draw.
- Facts about contracts, debts, rights and investments belong to an expert; a reading can help you approach them, never replace them.
