Work and money reading practice
Put the course together: a six-step routine for your own work and money readings, a full worked example, and two practice readings the coach can comment on.
In this lesson you will
- Run a work or money reading from question to one sentence you can act on.
- Link the cards of a work reading into one story about your side of the situation.
- Reread your own reading and rewrite any sentence that speaks for someone else's decision or promises a result.
You have been in the same role for three years, and you now do work your job title never mentioned. You want to ask for a raise, and you want to stop rehearsing the conversation every night. Tonight you decide to do one careful reading, from the question to a sentence you can act on.
A routine for your own work and money readings
Everything in this course fits into six steps. Run them in order, and keep the last one even when the reading feels encouraging. It is the step that keeps the reading honest.
- 1 Question: check it for subject, action, picture and expert.
- 2 Spread: let the shape of the question choose it.
- 3 Cards: read each from its work and money reading, in its position.
- 4 Links: join each card to at least one other.
- 5 Sentence: end with one thing you can do.
- 6 Check: underline every sentence that speaks for someone else's decision, promises an amount or a date, or makes a money decision for you, and rewrite it.
