The Lovers and the Chariot
Choosing and committing: The Lovers' choice of the heart and The Chariot's focused will, read from their pictures, across their range and against the cards they are confused with.
In this lesson you will
- Recognize The Lovers and The Chariot from their key symbols.
- Read each card across its range, upright and reversed, in love, work, self and money.
- Tell The Lovers from the Two of Cups and The Chariot from the Knight of Wands.
You have been seeing someone for a year, and they have been offered work in another city. Somewhere in the next month there is a choice to make, and after it, whichever way it goes, a road to follow.
Choosing, then going
The Lovers (VI) and The Chariot (VII) end the first row. The Lovers is the choice of the heart: a bond, or a decision that shows what you truly value. The Chariot is what comes after the choice: will, focus and the drive to move forward.
The Lovers is not only about romance. It appears whenever a choice lines up, or fails to line up, with your values: two offers, two paths, two parts of yourself. The Chariot is not only about winning; it is about holding pulls in different directions on one course.
Read together, they make a simple order: first decide what matters, then commit to it. When one appears, ask which step you are on.
