Love
Opinions are not fixed objects, so the cards do not hand you one. They show the impression you have been leaving — which part of you reaches other people first, and which part stays behind the door you keep closed.
Written for this question, card by card — not the card's general meaning.
Upright
They think of you as someone who makes life feel more livable. The Empress points to comfort, generosity, a house that feels warmer when you are in it. Be careful how you enjoy that: being valued for what you give can quietly turn into being expected to give, and the two look identical for a long time.
Reversed
Reversed, their picture of you is affectionate and a little diminishing. You are seen as the caretaker, the one who copes, and that role leaves no room for you to need anything. Turning one request down is the fastest way to find out whether the regard survives it.
Upright
They place you among the people they take seriously. The Hierophant says you register as someone with standards, who keeps their word and can be introduced to family without worry. That respect is solid and a little formal; it grows through shared obligations kept, not through charm.
Reversed
Reversed, you are being measured against a standard you never agreed to. Their idea of how a partner should behave came from their family or their last relationship, and you are being marked against it without being told the rules. Ask what they actually expect, out loud.
Upright
Justice says they see you clearly, without much flattery or much distortion. Your strengths and the places you let people down both register, and they weigh them against each other. Being seen accurately can feel colder than being adored; it is also the only kind of regard that holds up under strain.
Reversed
Reversed, their picture of you was formed on partial evidence and has not been updated since. One story they heard, or one day you handled badly, is still doing more work than the two years that followed. Facts can shift this, but only if you stop arguing and let a pattern speak.
Upright
You are harder to read than you think. The Moon says the picture they hold of you has gaps they fill in with guesswork, and their guesses lean toward what they fear rather than what is true. Saying one plain thing about yourself does more here than any amount of being interesting.
Reversed
Reversed, a misreading is clearing. Something they assumed about your intentions is being corrected by how you have actually behaved lately, and the correction is quiet, not announced. Keep doing the ordinary reliable thing rather than making a case for yourself.
Upright
In their mind you are the uncomplicated part of the week. The Sun says you are associated with relief, with being able to drop the guard, with laughing at something stupid. It is a warm picture and a slightly light one: check that they also know the part of you that struggles.
Reversed
Reversed, the brightness they see is starting to look like a role. They enjoy the version of you that is easy to be around and have not asked what it costs you to stay that way. Some of that is on you: you have trained people to expect you fine.
Upright
Their view of you has recently been revised. Judgement points to a moment where they saw you handle something and quietly changed their mind, usually upward. Old impressions do not die on their own; this one died because you gave them a reason. Keep giving the same reason.
Reversed
Reversed, they are judging you by a version of you that no longer exists. Something from early on has been kept on file, and every new thing you do is read through it. You cannot argue your way out of an old file; you can only outlast it, and decide how long you are willing to.
Upright
They see you carrying too much. The Ten of Wands says their picture of you includes admiration for how much you shoulder and a quiet reluctance to add to it, which can look like distance. If they have stopped asking you for things, that may be consideration rather than loss of interest.
Reversed
Reversed, the load is being seen for what it is: partly chosen. They have noticed that you take on more than anyone asked, and they are not sure whether to help or to stop enabling it. Saying plainly what you want from them settles the question for both of you.
Upright
You come across as someone with heat and nerve. The Queen of Wands says they find you vivid, a little intimidating, and more self-possessed than you feel inside. People who look unshakeable get offered less support, so if you want them closer, let one genuine wobble show.
Reversed
Reversed, they sense the effort behind the confidence. What reads as self-assurance in the room is understood, at least partly, as something you maintain. That can bring them closer or make them wary of setting you off. Which one it is shows in whether they bring you difficult news early or late.
Upright
What they hold is partly an image. The Seven of Cups says their idea of you is built from a handful of moments and a lot of imagination, and it is more flattering than accurate. Being adored for a picture is pleasant until the day you cannot keep standing in front of it.
Reversed
Reversed, the imagined version is falling away and the real one is arriving. They are seeing the less convenient parts of you now, and the regard that survives that is worth more than the version that came before. Let the correction happen rather than restoring the picture.
Upright
In their eyes you are someone who has their life sorted. The Nine of Cups says they read you as content, well fed, not obviously in need of anyone. It is a flattering picture with a hidden cost: people rarely offer support to someone who appears complete.
Reversed
Reversed, they suspect the contentment is a surface. Something in how you talk about your days does not match how you look when you think nobody is watching, and they have noticed. This is an invitation to be honest about one thing, not to explain everything.
Upright
They have not decided what to make of you. The Two of Swords describes someone holding two impressions at once and refusing to choose, often because choosing would require them to act. Do not read the pause as a verdict. Read it as a pause that can last a long time if nothing disturbs it.
Reversed
Reversed, the balance is tipping and they are not comfortable with it. Something you did recently pushed their impression of you off centre, and they are deciding whether to say so. Give them an opening rather than a defence; the first version of what they say will be the honest one.
Upright
This is the card seekers dread here, and it is worth reading precisely. The Five of Pentacles does not say they think little of you. It says they see you as someone going through a hard stretch, and hardship is easy to mistake for character. What they are reading is your situation, not your worth.
Reversed
Reversed, their sense of you is recovering. Whatever made you look shaky in their eyes is passing, and they are noticing that you kept going without making it everyone else's problem. That detail changes an impression more than any explanation would.
3 cards
1. You
Your heart in this connection — what you carry into it and what you truly feel.
2. Them
Their side of the connection — where they stand and what moves beneath the surface.
3. The Connection
The energy living between you — what binds you and where it is pulling.
A single card answers. The whole spread shows you what surrounds the answer — and it remembers, if you come back to this question later.
